MMP News: October 2026 Roundup
Roundup reference date: October 1, 2026. Published and updated November 3, 2026 to include later October developments. Dates below refer to the cited announcements, not the reference date. This is a selected review, not an exhaustive release feed.
New measurement features are useful when they resolve a specific gap in your acquisition workflow. This roundup covers October updates from Adjust, Branch and Kochava, plus a September Singular integration carried into this edition as background. It focuses on what changed and what a Martech team should verify before enabling it.
October 20: Adjust adds a Device Usage dashboard
Adjust introduced a pre-built Datascape dashboard for app versions, operating systems, SDK adoption and App Tracking Transparency status. That gives teams another way to investigate shifts in their active-user mix. Read Adjust’s announcement.
Cald’s implementation view: when conversion reporting changes after an app release, compare affected versions before changing campaign bids. A dashboard can help locate a difference; it does not establish why that difference occurred. Keep your release timeline, event contract and destination-delivery checks alongside the user breakdown.
October 13: Branch opens opt-in access to Banners
Branch documents the transition from Journeys to Banners, with opt-in access starting October 13. Existing Journeys continue running. The Campaign Manager supports priorities, schedules and campaign results. Read Branch’s Banners documentation.
What to check: inventory your existing web-to-app journeys before opting in. Test the installed-app path, the app-store fallback and the destination after installation. Use synthetic users to confirm that the banner shown, link parameters and app destination match the intended campaign. Keep a record of campaign priorities so overlapping audiences do not receive an unexpected placement.
October 9, updated October 21: Kochava publishes its Q3 bulletin
Kochava’s bulletin covers ChatGPT Ads measurement, major iOS and Android SDK releases, and AI-assisted campaign workflows. Its SDK guidance warns developers to remove previous manual deep-link event instrumentation where the new automatic behavior would duplicate it. Read Kochava’s product bulletin.
What to check: treat the SDK update as an instrumentation change. Assign mobile engineering and Martech reviewers, test reengagement links and inspect duplicate events in staging before rollout. A useful release record includes the old and new SDK versions, expected event counts, approved destination fields and a rollback owner.
September background: Singular audience syncing for ChatGPT Ads
Singular’s September 17 announcement connects Singular Audiences to ChatGPT Ads Custom Audiences. At announcement, it supported Android audiences using GAID; iOS support was described as coming later. The documented refresh cadence was hourly, with initial segment generation taking 24 hours. This is a September item included in the October 1 reference edition, not an October launch. Read Singular’s announcement.
What to check: confirm current platform eligibility with the vendor before planning activation. Validate inclusion and exclusion with an approved test audience, document consent requirements and measure actual synchronization delay. A recent purchaser should not remain in an acquisition audience merely because the campaign dashboard looks healthy.
October 8: Adjust expands store detection and verification
Adjust also announced expanded detection and verification across app stores, giving marketers more visibility into install origins. Read the store measurement update.
What to check: add each supported distribution store to your QA matrix. Compare reported origin with the store used for a synthetic install, and investigate unknown values before relying on a store-level budget breakdown.
Turn news into a release checklist
For a hypothetical subscription app, a useful acceptance test starts with one synthetic installation, one completed first payment and one deep-link reengagement. Record the expected source events, attributed outcome and destination receipt separately. An install report does not prove the payment event arrived, and an attributed payment does not prove advertising caused it.
- Version the event contract and document the actual emission point with a synthetic screenshot.
- Use CODEOWNERS for relevant tracking files and CI checks for changed event contracts. File ownership alone does not detect every tracking-line change.
- Monitor each source-to-destination path, including device-mode integrations and warehouse exports.
- Review field allowlists, consent behavior, alert ownership and rollback before activation.
Use the MMP comparison guide to evaluate a vendor against your required networks, exports and deep-link journeys. New features should answer those requirements rather than become a reason to buy a larger stack.
