CRM News: October 2026 Roundup
Roundup reference date: October 1, 2026. Published and updated November 3, 2026 to include later October developments. Dates below refer to the cited announcements, not the reference date. This is a selected review, not an exhaustive release feed.
CRM automation now reaches beyond composing a message. The October updates reviewed here affect decisioning, quality assurance, delivery investigation and changes to customer records. For this roundup, CRM includes customer engagement platforms such as Braze as well as HubSpot’s customer relationship management tools.
October 15: Braze expands decisioning and campaign controls
Braze’s dated release notes list Decisioning Studio Go as generally available for recurring email programs, with individual combinations and a random control group. Agentic Standards remains beta in the same release, despite earlier expectations of an October general release. Messaging Observability is generally available for tracing journey and send events. Cald’s implementation view: separate the decision engine, the review process and the delivery evidence. A model choosing content does not establish that the right user was eligible, the message was sent or the conversion arrived. Require an explicit business outcome and an accountable owner before moving a recurring program into automated decisioning.
A useful pilot preserves a control group, excludes test accounts and documents unsubscribe and suppression behavior. Review the beta status and account access of campaign QA tools before making them a launch dependency. Human reviewers still need a clear route for resolving uncertain or failed checks.
October product updates, reported November 2: HubSpot adds operational controls
HubSpot’s official October recap was published November 2. It describes staged content approvals, requested changes, customer-agent batch testing, richer agent action details and property audit history. Availability differs by hub and tier, so the recap should not be read as an entitlement for every account. Read HubSpot’s October product recap.
What to check: map each capability to the person who owns the process. Content approval should identify the final approver; customer-agent testing needs representative cases; property history needs an investigator who can tell whether a change was intended. Confirm the subscription and seat requirements inside the account before changing an operating procedure.
A practical pilot for a lifecycle team
Consider a hypothetical app that sends onboarding messages after signup and a purchase reminder later. Start with one journey and synthetic records for an eligible user, an unsubscribed user, an existing customer and an account with missing data. The expected result should include both sends and deliberate non-sends.
Record the source of each eligibility field, the last successful synchronization and the exact event that ends the journey. If a payment arrives late, define whether the queued reminder is cancelled. A customer who has paid should not continue receiving a purchase prompt because two systems disagree about identity or timing.
- Before launch: approve copy, eligibility, personalization fallbacks and channel consent.
- During the pilot: reconcile journey entry, suppression, delivery failure and business outcomes.
- When an agent can write: restrict its scope, retain change evidence and require review for consequential changes.
- When rolling back: stop new entries, inspect queued messages and verify that recovery does not replay old sends.
Keep customer data contracts explicit
Version the event schema and destination mapping alongside the integration. Include Martech review when those files change, and use CI to reject missing required fields or disallowed payloads. A catalog with synthetic screenshots should identify where the event actually fires, rather than merely listing the screen where the user saw a button.
Monitor email, push, SMS and other enabled channels independently. Aggregate delivery can conceal a broken channel. Reconcile provider delivery evidence with the CRM journey and the product event stream, and route each alert to an owner who can act.
For an integration plan, start with Cald’s Braze CRM integration service and define the data and acceptance scope before selecting automation features. The practical gain is a workflow your team can explain, test and operate.
