AppsFlyer vs Adjust: Specs, Pricing and Reviews

Two broad mobile measurement platforms. Compare the linking workflow, data delivery and operating effort before choosing.

AppsFlyer versus Adjust

Put both on your shortlist when mobile attribution is a central growth function. Our editorial starting point is AppsFlyer for a brief led by campaign links and measurement breadth, and Adjust for a brief led by configurable acquisition operations and callback delivery. These are evaluation priorities, not exclusive capabilities or a finding that one is more accurate.

This comparison combines official documentation and publicly accessible review findings checked October 30, 2026. Cald has not run a controlled benchmark of these two products. Specifications describe documented behavior; review findings describe individual experiences; recommendations below are our interpretation.

What makes the choice practical

AppsFlyer: coordinate marketers and developers on links

OneLink’s guide assigns separate tasks to marketers and developers. A marketer defines routing and campaign context; the app needs the platform configuration and deep-link handling. Treat a functioning link as a joint delivery, with a named owner for the landing experience after the app opens.

Our inference: AppsFlyer merits the first demo when your main operational headache is managing many campaign entry points. Give the vendor an email link, a website banner and a returning-user link. Require a demonstration of all three, including the fallback when the app is absent. Link functionality alone does not establish that a paid network accepts the same link format.

Adjust: design your data destination early

Adjust’s export model makes the downstream destination an implementation decision. A callback needs an endpoint and processing pipeline; a bucket upload needs storage, ingestion and monitoring. Either way, someone must own the raw feed. Its documentation distinguishes this from downloading aggregated reports.

Our inference: Adjust merits the first demo when acquisition analysts want to inspect individual delivery records and control the reporting pipeline. Ask an engineer to follow a sample install and purchase through the callback schema. Verify missing-field behavior and destination retries rather than stopping at a successful dashboard connection.

Pricing and the quote you should request

AppsFlyer publishes Growth at $0.07 per conversion after 12,000 Welcome conversions usable in the first year. Zero is unsuitable for paid activity. Confirm premium-data charges.

Adjust publishes Base free for the first year up to 1,500 monthly conversions; Core and Enterprise require a quote. Confirm additional Growth Solutions.

These entry points do not price an equivalent implementation. Send both vendors a forecast separating paid installs, re-engagement, apps, platforms and required modules. Include raw-data delivery, fraud controls, support and retention. Ask each to define a conversion in writing. Do not substitute your purchase volume for the billable attribution count.

For procurement, request a worked monthly invoice at expected usage and at twice that usage. Then price the engineering work to maintain the selected export route. A low unit rate can be outweighed by a reporting pipeline nobody has capacity to operate.

What web reviews actually add

G2’s comparison highlights Adjust support and usability alongside complexity and loading complaints; AppsFlyer feedback highlights analytics while raising cost and reporting concerns. These are reviewer opinions, not measured vendor performance.

Review aggregates can change and mix plans, company sizes and implementation ages. We have not reproduced a star score because a small rating difference would not establish better measurement for your app. Read relevant reviews in context, then translate the themes into tests.

  • Support: submit the same implementation question to both during evaluation. Record the response, technical completeness and escalation path. Get the actual contracted service level.
  • Usability: let your own acquisition manager build a campaign report without a vendor operator driving the screen.
  • Reporting friction: have an analyst explain an intentional discrepancy using the attribution settings, timezone and export records.
  • Commercial concerns: reconcile the proposal against the trial configuration so a temporary premium entitlement is not mistaken for an included feature.

Worked pilot: first paid subscription

Synthetic example: an app buys traffic on two networks and sends email campaigns to existing users. Its acquisition goal is the first successful subscription payment. The pilot below is an acceptance plan, not a claimed client result.

Define these business events before mapping vendor names
EventTrigger and required fieldsAcceptance check
trial_startedBackend verifies a trial entitlement. Include event ID, account ID, trial ID, plan and UTC occurrence time. One event per trial; a retried webhook does not create a second business event.
subscription_payment_succeededBackend verifies a settled payment. Include transaction ID, event ID, account ID, revenue, ISO currency, UTC time and first-payment flag. One recorded transaction; numeric revenue and currency match the backend ledger.

Test an installed-app email click and a new-install journey separately. Check the intended destination, campaign context and supported attribution report. Replay the payment delivery and inspect duplicate handling. Export a sample to the destination your analysts will actually use.

For iOS, accept the supported aggregate and delayed reporting behavior documented by the vendor; do not demand customer-level matching where the underlying signal does not supply it. Compare reports only after aligning windows, timezone and cohort definitions. Assign an owner to investigate exceptions before signing off.

AppsFlyer or Adjust: which should you evaluate first?

Take a four-step quiz and watch the fit forecast change with each answer. This is our editorial routing model, not a product benchmark. Your answers stay in this page and are not stored or submitted.

How this quiz makes a recommendation

The live forecast divides the points from answered questions between the contenders. Before weighted answers, shares are evenly split. These shares are not winning probabilities. Business-pattern points are our editorial hypotheses about where to begin a demo. They are not ratings of accuracy, quality or exclusive capabilities.

The workflow question adds 3 points for its matching evaluation focus: campaign links → AppsFlyer; operations and callbacks → Adjust; cost normalization → Singular; web-to-app → Airbridge; lean game monetization → Tenjin. A focus outside this pair and “no single workflow” add no points. The higher total is evaluated first; equal totals recommend piloting both. The buying constraint changes the demo task, not the ranking. Mandatory requirements can override the result. Website-only answers bypass the comparison.
